Becky Simon, principal of the Bra Smyth mail order and Internet operations, is a third-generation purveyor of better intimate wear. Her grandfather established Frishman’s in 1932, a regional “legend” in New York’s borough of the Bronx. Becky’s mother, Sandi Simon, virtually grew up in the family store, eventually assuming its management and all-the-while teaching Becky and her sisters the ways of the intimate wear business. Today, Frishman’s continues under Sandi’s stewardship while her daughter Becky operates Bra Smyth of California and daughter Diana runs the Bra Smyth Madison Avenue flagship store.

The Bra Smyth concept originated in 1991 with the opening of Village Bra Smyth, in New York’s fashionable Greenwich Village area. So extensive was the demand for our store’s dedicated and upscale approach to intimate wear that, in 1994, we moved “uptown” to 905 Madison Avenue (between 72nd and 73rd Streets), on New York’s exclusive Upper East Side.

Since the opening of our store the demand has grown and with it our desire to expand. We began our catalogs and moved the headquarters to San Jose, California. In addition, brings in orders from all over the country.
