The ARI DEIN brand pays homage to an Old New York forgotten era inspired by the designer’s grandmother, Lillian Dein Shapiro.

The 100% silk range of intimates is hand-crafted in New York City’s garment district, in the same standard of quality as Ari’s great grandfather Ben Dein who once produced his eponymous fur collection down the block. Read more about the Dein Family Legacy.

Meticulous attention to detail combined the employment of artisanal handwork and antique machinery allow Arielle to design pieces completely original to the modern lingerie market, finely constructed as if you commissioned them from your neighborhood tailor circa 1920.

There are no synthetics used in the collection. Each piece is dreamt, illustrated, cut, sewn, pressed, labeled and loved in the island of Manhattan, NY.

Arielle Shapiro is the owner and creative force behind ARI DEIN, based in Manhattan.

A 2007 graduate of Dickinson College, Ari received her bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and Art History. But it was the time she spent abroad in Florence at the renowned Istituto di Polimoda studying fashion design where her innate passion for intimate apparel was revealed.

Inspired by boutique hotel living and art deco style, Arielle’s (Ari’s) architectural details and exceptional tailoring contribute to a line that is unique, nostalgic and versatile. A chemise can be worn effortlessly for sleep or paired with jeans for a sultry night out.

Ari blends her past design experience within luxury brands and her fine art background with hand-selected materials and exquisite craftsmanship, making her work truly unique to the modern lingerie market. Dedicated to an Old New York forgotten era, Ari’s collection speaks to a time when custom lingerie was made to order and with great care.

The 100% silk range of intimates is hand-crafted in New York City’s garment district, in the same standard of quality as her great grandfather Ben Dein who once produced his eponymous fur collection just a few blocks away.

ARI DEIN has begun to develop a loyal and exclusive clientele in New York City and abroad and is available for wholesale and private commission worldwide. Most recently, her work has been featured in Women’s Wear Daily and on Gossip Girl as worn by actress Leighton Meester.
